Hatchborne: Dream Warriors ("Hatchborne", "we") is a game for families. A parent or guardian creates and manages the account, and children play as players inside that family. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices parents have. It is written with the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) in mind.
1. Information we collect
- From the parent: email address and password (stored securely by our login provider; we can't see your password). If you subscribe, our payment processor (Stripe) collects your payment details. We never see or store full card numbers.
- Player profiles the parent sets up: a nickname, a grade level (used to pick quiz questions), avatar choices, and a Parent Zone PIN.
- Game progress: creatures, items, quiz results, achievements and settings, so the game can save and sync between devices.
- Friend features (optional): if a parent approves a friend request, the other family can see that player's nickname, avatar and creature team for sparring. Players can send small preset gifts. There is no chat or free-text messaging.
- Technical data: our hosting providers keep standard server logs (such as IP address and browser type) for security and to keep the service running.
We do not ask children for their email, real full name, photos, voice, location or contact details. We do not show ads, sell personal information, use third-party advertising or tracking cookies, or build marketing profiles of children.
2. How we use information
- To run the game, save progress and sync it across your devices.
- To manage the trial and subscription, and to send account emails (sign-up confirmation, password reset, billing receipts).
- To keep the service safe, fix bugs and improve the game.
3. Parental consent and control
Only an adult (18+) may create an account, and they confirm they are the child's parent or legal guardian. The parent chooses what player information to enter. Parents can, at any time:
- Review their children's player profiles and progress in the game's Parent Zone.
- Erase all game progress: Parent Zone → Account & subscription → Erase all game progress.
- Delete the whole account and all data: Parent Zone → Account & subscription → Delete my account. Or email us.
- Refuse further collection by deleting the account or turning off friend features.
4. Who we share it with
Only with service providers that help us run Hatchborne, under contracts that limit how they use it: Supabase (login and database), [YOUR WEB HOST, e.g. Netlify] (website hosting) and Stripe (payments). We may also disclose information if the law requires it. We never sell personal information.
5. How long we keep it
We keep account and game data while the account exists. If a subscription ends, we keep progress for [12 months] so the family can come back, then delete it. Deleted accounts are removed within [30 days], apart from records we must keep by law (for example, billing records).
6. Security
Data is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Database rules keep each family's private data separate. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and will notify you as the law requires if something goes wrong.
7. Changes
If we make important changes, we'll update this page and email the parent account before the changes affect children's information.
